Almost 10 years ago I played through the first god of war game... and I loved it! I had never played any of the other games in the series however. I recently picked up a used ps3 system and began building up my collection of games that I have been wanting to play over the years. Much to my surprise, there were remastered versions of God of War I and II as well as both of the psp titles! With 6 God of War titles in my posession, I figured it would be fun to play through them all!
About a week ago I finished up the first game. It was just as I had remembered it all those years ago, however, the remaster in 1080p and the increased framerate was a welcome invitation. My major pain points with the game were the lava platforming sequences in the Challenge of Hades, and the rotating blade pillars toward the end of the Path of Hades. Oh man were those pillars fucking irritating. Ares was kind of a bastard as well, he kept rando spamming his fireball attack... But he eventually went down like a bitch lol.
I've recently started into God of War II. DAMN IS THIS GAME GORGEOUS. The graphics in this game could hold their own against a lot of native ps3 titles. So far I've made it past the pegasus sequence and landed on the Isle of Creation. I've manipulated the Steeds of Time in order to merge the two halves of the temple together and have crossed back over. I've recovered the amulet of fate, and beheaded the Athena statue in the divine pools. It's just after this where I am currently stuck... It's a really hard fight, and I don't have enough red orbs to upgrade my Blades of Athena before the combat begins. By the time I get enough orbs from the combat to make the upgrade, I've suffered too much damage to continue fighting for much longer. Another try or two and I should have it!
